FRANCESCA BELL (b. 1964) is an Australian artist, book illustrator and academic with numerous publications. Her PhD research focused on interdisciplinary perspectives and collaboration between visual, literary, music and performing arts. Her thesis looked at the work of the English writer, artist and illustrator Mervyn Peake.

Using artwork as a means to get inside the lived experience of animals remains Francesca’s main passion.
